The Truth About the Blue Zones (and Why Only One Really Matters)
Okinawa: The Only Blue Zone Backed by Science
You’ve probably heard the story of the Blue Zones - those five places around the world where people supposedly live the longest.
But there’s something they rarely tell you:
Only one of those “Blue Zones” has been the subject of decades of real, peer-reviewed scientific research.
The others? They’re mostly magazine articles, built on storytelling and speculation - not data.
In my new video, I take a hard look at the Blue Zones hype and explain why Okinawa is the only one we can actually learn from. I dig into the science behind the Okinawa Centenarian Study - how it started, what it uncovered, and why its findings still matter today.
I also explain how vague, unproven claims about places like Loma Linda and Sardinia have become the foundation of modern diet advice - even though there’s no real science to back them up.

Wonderful as always, except to say one thing: the MCG test can directly prove the impact of lifestyle changes, in a quantitative fashion, and the majority of all these studies are unnecessary any more for we can measure the mitochondrial activity directly. The US is just 10 years behind the rest of the world, like PacRim, Indonesia, India.
Thanks so much for all the great info.!
